Training in hot weather
We will be dealing with tropical temperatures in the coming days. Exercising during these days is perfectly fine, but there are a few points to keep in mind.
Adjust your training
The heat is already putting a lot of strain on your body. It is therefore wise to adjust your training slightly. Train a little less intensely, take more rest in between, or choose a slightly shorter workout than you are used to.
Airconditioning helps, but not without limits
Our air conditioning naturally helps to keep the temperature pleasant. However, during tropical days, keep in mind that it will also be warmer indoors than on an average training day.
Drink plenty
Make sure you start your training well hydrated. When exercising, the rule is: don't wait until you get thirsty, but drink small amounts regularly.
Choose your training time consciously
Are you bothered by the heat? Then avoid the hottest times of the day. Training early in the morning or later in the evening is often much more pleasant.
Listen to your body
Do you feel unwell during exercise due to the heat? Do you feel dizzy, nauseous, or lightheaded? Then stop your training immediately and let the trainer present know right away.
